My iPhone is not charging even though the cable works on another phone. What is wrong?

The short answer

A working cable rules out the cable, not the wall adapter, so the shortlist is the adapter, the charging port, the battery and the board. The port is checked first, because compacted pocket lint stops the connector seating fully, and that shows up as charging at one angle or not charging at all. The battery and the board are checked after that.

How to tell lint from a real fault

Look into the port with a bright light. If you can see grey packed material at the base, or the cable clicks in shallow and wobbles, it is almost certainly debris. A port blocked by lint often charges in one particular angle and stops the moment you move the phone.

If the cable seats firmly with a solid click and still nothing happens, the port contacts, the battery or the board are involved. Do not dig at the port with a pin or a paperclip. The contacts inside are thin and bending one turns a cleaning job into a port replacement.

When the battery is refusing the charge

A cell at the end of its service life can refuse a charge outright, or take one and lose it within the hour. If the phone charges only while it is switched off, or shuts down suddenly while the reading still shows plenty left, the battery is the suspect rather than the port. The free 21-point diagnosis covers the port, the battery and the charging behaviour, so the two are separated before any part is quoted.

Port cleaning at your door, board faults at the lab

A lint-packed port is cleaned at your address. So is a worn connector that needs reflow or a new port, and a battery swap where the cell has not swollen up against the display. iFixpert sends an engineer out from the Sector 49 bench to addresses in Gurgaon and Delhi NCR.

Liquid exposure and a burnt charging IC are the exceptions. Both need bench equipment the engineer cannot carry: a microscope, hot-air rework, an ultrasonic bath for the board. Those repairs are done on the bench in Sector 49, and iFixpert tells you at diagnosis which of the two you have.

Tests to run before you book

Try a different wall adapter and a different socket. That is the one link in the chain the other phone did not test for you. Restart the phone once. If it has been near water recently, stop charging it and say so when you book, because a wet port under power can damage the board.
