Do I get my old screen or battery back after the repair?
The short answer
Yes. The old screen or battery leaves with you, not with the engineer. On a doorstep repair in Gurgaon or Delhi NCR it goes into your hand at the end of the visit, and where the work has to run at the Sector 49 lab it travels back with the device. You never have to ask for it. You only have to say something if you would rather iFixpert took it away.
If you would rather we took it away
Tell the engineer you want the old part disposed of, and iFixpert takes it away instead of handing it over. A swollen cell or a sheet of loose glass is better given up than kept in a drawer.
Say it when you hand the device in if the repair is going to the Sector 49 lab, because you will not be standing at the bench when the part comes out.
You do not need it for a warranty claim
The warranty travels on the document iFixpert issues at handover, on paper and by email, not on the part in your drawer. Bin the old screen the same evening and the claim still stands. It runs on the device and that document, and it is honoured at the Sector 49 lab or back at your door.
It is a record, not a spare
A screen that came out cracked and a cell that came out worn are not going back into anything. Keep the old part as proof of what was swapped, or hand it over. It is no use as a backup.
